Sustainable Support

For our support brief we ended up getting into groups and having to come up with a presentation of what our interpretation of support was. We had a lot of freedom with the topic so we decided to look at the different option available to us for sustainable support within our society. I decided to research how we can use sustainable ideas within our cities to improve people's living standards and reduce costs of living. There are lots of existing ideas about sustainable support within cities already, such as solar panel tiles for roofing and vertical farming in skyscrapers.

Then I had an idea, from looking at the research one of our group members did on origami pot plants which expand as the plant grows, I thought it would be an interesting idea to have buildings which are somehow integrated with a tree and expand or grow as the tree grows.I made a quick 3D concept model in Maya, which i textured in Substance to help give people an idea of what i was thinking of.
